President of SET meets Minister Gilberto Kassab

The president of SET, Olímpio José Franco, met with the Minister of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications, Gilberto Kassab and extended the formal invitation to the opening ceremony of SET EXPO 2016.

Besides the ceremony, Kassab was also invited to the commemorations of the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the SBTVD-T (Brazilian Terrestrial Digital Television System) standard, inspired by Japanese technology and currently in use in Brazil. Japan’s Minister of Communications has confirmed he will be present at the commemorations.

“The meeting was very receptive. The Ministry of Communications regulates a large section of the technical standards for communication, and SET has played a very proactive role in collaborating with this process. The invitation to our event is clearly the result of the good relations between SET and the Ministry”, the president of SET points out.

Partners since the ISDB-T model was created, SET will pay homage to the 10th anniversary of the creation of the SBTVD during the opening ceremony of SET EXPO 2016, which takes place from August 29 until September 1, in São Paulo.

Consisting of a products and equipment demonstration trade show and a Technology Conference, SET EXPO is Latin America’s largest broadcast and new media event, and is held once a year in São Paulo.
