SET Breakfast @ NAB Show seminar gets a makeover and focuses on the fourth industrial revolution

At a meeting held at the end of January, the management of SET decided to make some important changes to the SET Breakfast @ NAB Show Seminar, the event the entity has promoted at the NAB Show, in Las Vegas, for 27 years.

“We believe the seminar needs to focus more on debate and on the exchange of ideas among the participants. Last year, we successfully introduced this change at the Regional Seminars; so, it was natural that we would also implement it at our NAB Show event”, said SET Chief Marketing Officer, Daniela Souza.

The SET Breakfast @ NAB Show Seminar is a joint event with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), the promoters of the NAB Show, which allocates space to SET for holding the event. “The SET-NAB partnership is still a strong and positive one for both entities”, says Olímpio José Franco, superintendent of SET. “The agreement reflects the importance of the Brazilian audiovisual market for the Americans”, he says.

The SET Breakfast @ NAB Show Seminar brings together executives from the leading companies in the audiovisual market in Brazil, as well as global opinion leaders, for a series of panels that run from 7:30 to 9:00 am over the three days, in room N166 of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).

The main change in 2018 is in the format of the event. “We will have seven panels, on which a moderator will mediate the discussion of a specific theme. Those debating will include key market players, including broadcasters, content producers, vendors and tech companies, who will have the chance to discuss innovations from the perspective of both producers and consumers”, Daniela explains.

Besides the new format, the event promises to include themes that go beyond broadcasting technologies, and which comprise the so-called “fourth industrial revolution”. “The entire discussion about the market, at this point in time, must strive to understand the impact of the new technologies from the internet and from digital world on the creation of new business models. The lifestyle of how people work, relate to one another and produce will undergo major transformations in the years ahead, and SET wants to be at the center of this discussion”, says the director of the entity.

Registrations for the 2018 SET Breakfast @ NAB Show Seminar will soon be open on the SET site. Right now, the entity is promoting free registration for visitors to the NAB Show pavilions, and is also the official organizer of the Brazilian Delegation, with the support of the US Consulate-General. Together with the travel agency Brazilusa Turismo, it is offering travel packages with discounts. For information go to this link.
