All you need to know about SET at the NAB Show

There are just a few days to go to the start of the 2017 Nab Show, the world’s largest products and services trade show in the fields of broadcast, digital media and television, held in Las Vegas, USA. This year, the theme of the event is The M.E.T. Effect (Media, Entertainment, technology), and will be held from April 22 to 27.

SET is participating at the event with the SET Breakfast technology seminar intended got Brazilian professionals in the sector either working abroad or those who will attend the event to get up to speed on the newest technologies and the key global launches.

The SET Breakfast Seminar

This year, the domestic highlight at the SET Breakfast will be the experience of the disconnection of the analog signal, the Brazilian switch-off. Our team includes the SET international director Fernando Bittencourt; José Frederico Rehme, SET education director; the IP Studies Group coordinator, José Antônio Garcia; Rafael Leal, the coordinator of the Switch-off Working Group, and the SET regional directors for the South and Mid-West, Carlos Fini and Emerson Weirich, respectively, talking about their experiences in their respective regions.

On Wednesday and Thursday, within the SET Breakfast, the Technology Forum will be held, consisting of discussions about the international challenges facing the broadcast industry. The moderators will be the president of SET, Liliana Nakonechnyj and the superintendent. Olímpio José Franco. Our guests are the president of the IEEE-BTS (Broadcast Technology Society) the director of Engineering and Technology of Iowa Public Television (IPTV), Bill Hayes; Al Kovalick, founder of Media Systems Consulting; Skip Pizzi, NAB vice president for Technological Education and Outreach; Dr. Hans Hoffmann, head of the unit on Media Fundamentals and Production Technology of the European Broadcast Union (EBU) and Kenichi Murayama, senior engineering researcher at Japan’s NHK STRL.

2017 SET EXPO Booth (SU8923SR)

From April 24 to 27, at the NAB Show Trade Fair, the 2017 SET EXPO booth is promoting Latin America’s largest broadcast and new media event to the professionals circulating in the corridors of the exhibition pavilion. SET EXPO will take place in São Paulo between August 21 and 24, 2017.

The booth will be open from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm.

 

SET Room

April 24 to 26, 2017 – from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – room: N116 (North Hall)

Functions as a meeting and support point for both Brazilian visitors registered by SET and those participating in the SET BREAKFAST Seminar, who will have support services such as computers, internet, coffee, water and meeting tables. The room is free of charge to use, and booking is not required, and will be available for the entire duration of the SET Breakfast Seminar.

 

Brazilian Pavilion (SU1721)

Organized by the Brazilian Union of Electrical, Electronic and Similar Device Industries of Electronics Valley (Sindvel), by Eletroeletrônicos Brasil and by the Brazilian Exports Promotion Agency, APEX, this year’s Brazilian pavilion will host 15 Brazilian companies exhibiting their products at the NAB Show. This is Brazil’s 11th participation at the trade show with a dedicated pavilion. SET is jointly supporting this initiative with the SBTVD Forum.

The companies already confirmed are Hitachi Kokusai Linear, TSDA, Showcase Pro, EiTV, Tecsys, Voice Interaction, Wimobilis, RF Mídia, Playlist, Inatel, Snews, Opic Telecom, Biquad Broadcast, Media Portal and TQTVD.

 

Register free of charge to visit the Trade Show

Entrance to the NAB Show Products and Services Trade Show is free, and it will take place between April 24 and 27, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Monday; from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday.
