SET EXPO 2018 – Trade Show expectation is for 15,000 attendees

From August 28 to 30, São Paulo will host the 2018 edition of the Content and Media Business, Products and Technology Services Trade Show– SET EXPO. It is the largest trade show in the sector in Latin America, bringing together the leading Brazilian and international manufacturers in the audiovisual production chain.

The expectation is to receive 15,000 attendees over the three days from markets such as TV and radio, broadcasters, subscriber TV operators, on demand and internet video services, audio, video and cinema producers, advertising and marketing agencies, universities, the press, software, games and applications companies, providers and manufacturers of services via satellite and technology developers among many others.

“SET EXPO ranks among the world’s largest trade shows and is part of the annual international calendar of events like NAB Show (USA), IBC (Europe) and InterBEE (Japan). For Brazilian professionals and executives, it represents a unique opportunity for business, recycling and networking on their own patch, which reflects the strength and importance of the sector in Brazil and Latin America”, Olímpio José Franco, superintendent da SET, explains.

The event floorplan will be occupied by 150 exhibitors representing 400 Brazilian and foreign brands, which will showcase the leading business and technology innovations and trends for media and content. “This year SET EXPO is innovating: the booths area has been increased and better use is being made of the spaces in the pavilion, so as to enhance the presence of the exhibitors and improve the experience of the attendees”, says Franco. In his opinion, “Last year, the Trade Show generated over U$ 40 million in business, and we believe that this year will see a slight increase.”

The event is intended for professionals, executives, managers, leaders and academics in the audiovisual sector (from production to consumption), as well as those in broadcasting, the internet and telecommunications. Representatives are expected from 38 countries, such as Argentina, the United States, Germany, Japan, China, Chile, Colombia and Britain.

The event will also host the 5th edition of the SETup Challenge, an SET project for fostering entrepreneurship and start-ups who will have the chance to exclusively showcase their innovations. Additional information will be published shortly.
