Control and quality in IP Distribution are the subject of a panel at SET EXPO 2017

The 29th SET EXPO Technology Conference will move the issue of IP to center stage. On Wednesday (23), the roundtable chaired by Gilvani Moletta, (Technical Director of the Padre Anchieta Foundation), will discuss points for the evaluation and quality control of distribution over IP. “In a scenario of inevitable technological changes that afford a significant transition period, we are going to take a detailed look at the quality control challenges in a wide range of production phases, as well as in the countless means of distribution over IP”, he explains.

The panel will hold three talks. The first will be about the challenges and solutions in security as applied to television networks. The idea is to explore best practices and methodologies, protocols and new resources, from the design of networks for transmitting IP video, to day-to-day technical support. The speaker will be Renan Cizauskas, executive director of Asccent do Brasil.

He will be followed by Eliésio Silva Júnior (Regional Video Sales Leader for Latin America at Tektronix) who will give a talk on “benchmark solutions, tests, measurements, monitoring and quality control in IP”, which will address issues like “Why are we still using SDI?” and “Why video over IP?”.

Rounding off the panel, Samuel Yuen (executive at Akamai Technologies responsible for media and vertical entertainment in Latin America) will present the trends in linear live TV and the challenges it presents.

The panel on “Evaluation and quality control of Distribution over IP” is part of the 29th SET EXPO Technology Conference, and will take place on August 23 at 2:00 pm.
