The idea behind the talk is to showcase examples of how Artificial Intelligence is already being used in newsrooms around the world. We will present case studies of experiments conducted at the BBC, NHK, NYTimes, The Guardian, and others.
Next, we will discuss the impact of AI on the future of journalism and the various open questions regarding the disruptive impacts of Generative Artificial Intelligence technologies, for text, audio, video, and graphics.
In addition, we will address topics such as the proliferation of fake news, now amplified by AIs, and its already perceived impacts on our society.
Finally, we will present an alternative approach to the need for journalists to be increasingly aware of how these tools can be used to their advantage and how the concepts of immersion, first-person journalism, and storyliving will become even more necessary.
