Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) is a Public Company founded on April 7th, 2008, through Federal Law No. 11,652/2008, with headquarters in Brasília (DF). Its purpose is to provide public broadcasting and related services, aiming to contribute for citizens critical formation, offering artistic, educational, cultural, informative and scientific programming, seeking to reflect the plurality and diversity of Brazilian society.
The company is made up of the following vehicles: TV Brasil, Agência Brasil, Radioagência Nacional, Rádio Nacional from different cities as Rio de Janeiro AM (1,130 kHz), FM (87,1MHz), Brasília AM (980 kHz), FM (96.1 MHz), São Paulo (87.1 MHz), São Luís (93.7 MHz), Alto Solimões (96.1 MHz), Amazônia OC (11,780 KHz and 6,180 KHz); Rádio MEC from Rio de Janeiro AM (800 KHz), FM (99.3 MHz) and from Brasília (87.1 MHz). EBC is also responsible for managing the National Public Communication Network (RNCP) with 108 TV and 158 Radio affiliates.
