Profa. Dra. Ana Silvia Lopes Davi Médola

She is an Associate Professor in Televisual Communication at the Universidade Estadual Paulista UNESP in Bauru, São Paulo, where she is affiliated with the Department of Social Communication and works as a professor in the Social Communication: Radio, Television, and Internet program. She is accredited as a permanent faculty member in the Communication Graduate Program at UNESP (Master’s and Ph.D. levels). She holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Semiotics from PUC/SP, focusing on the analysis of audiovisual language and television aesthetics. She has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and History and has worked in broadcasting companies such as Rede Globo and the now-defunct Rede Manchete. She served as the Director of TV Unesp from 2010 to 2017. In her research activities, she leads the GEA – Audiovisual Studies Group at UNESP and is a member of the Sociosemiotic Research Center (PUC-SP, USP-FFLCH, CNRS-Paris). Her scientific production focuses on communication studies, television, semiotics of audiovisual language, and is documented in book chapters and articles published in scientific journals.
