Olimpio José Franco
Relationship Executive and member of the SET Past Presidents Council
Olímpio José Franco is a Relationship Executive at SET and a member of the SET Past Presidents Council. He has a technical degree from the Francisco Moreira da Costa Technical School of Electronics – Santa Rita do Sapucaí – MG. He is an electronic and electrotechnical engineer from FEI – Faculdade de Engenharia Industrial. In 1969, he joined the Padre Anchieta Foundation (Radio and TV Cultura, São Paulo) as a trainee, leaving only in 1988, when he held the position of technical director. From 1988 to 2003, he was technical director of TV Jovem Pan. He is a founding member of SET – Sociedade Brasileira de Engenharia de Televisão (Brazilian Society of Television Engineering), having served as president for four periods, as well as being technology director and vice-president at various times. He studied MBA – Master Business Administration with an emphasis on marketing, at Faap – Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, and took the international module at UNM – University of New Mexico – USA. He is a life member of SMPTE and a member of the Technical Module of the SBTVD Forum. In 2017, he received the “Honorary member” award from the ITE (Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers – Japan) and the “Radio Achievement Award 2017″ from the ARIB (Association of Radio Industries and Businesses) – Japan.
