Márcio Carneiro dos Santos
Coordinator of the SET Working Group on Artificial Intelligence
He holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Program in Intelligence Technologies and Digital Design (TIDD) at PUC-SP and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Brasília (UnB) in the field of Communication Theories and Technologies.
He is the Coordinator of the Professional Master’s Program in Communication at the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) and a professor in the Department of Social Communication, specializing in Digital Network Journalism. He also directs LABCOM (Media Convergence Laboratory), leads the CNPq Research Group on Technology and Digital Narratives (TECND), and serves as Chief Researcher at the Data Intelligence Center (NID).
He is the Coordinator of the Artificial Intelligence Working Group at SET (Brazilian Society of Television Engineering) and a recipient of the FAPEMA/CNPq State Productivity Research Fellowship.
His research and publications focus on Intelligent Systems Applied to Journalism, Digital Narratives, Generative Artificial Intelligence, Immersive Journalism, Design Science, Network Theory, Social Network Analysis, and Philosophy of Technology.
He received the Adelmo Genro Filho Award from the Brazilian Association of Journalism Researchers (SBPJor) in 2018 and 2022 in the Applied Research category.
