Li-Chang Shuen Cristina Silva Sousa has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Communication at the Federal University of Maranhão since 2008. Permanent professor of the Post-Graduate Program in Communication – Professional Master’s Degree – at UFMA. She holds a degree in Social Communication – Journalism from the Federal University of Maranhão (2002) and a master’s degree in Communication from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2005), with a PhD in Social Sciences from the Center for Research and Graduate Studies on the Americas of the University of Brasília (2013) and a postdoctoral internship in Political Science at the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP) of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2017).  She is currently a PhD candidate in Computer Science in the Graduate Program in Computer Science at UFMA. She has experience in the field of communication, with an emphasis on journalism, technology, and political communication, working primarily on the following topics: television, journalism, politics, communication and technology, and public opinion.
