Esteban Walter Gonzalez Clua

Esteban Clua is a full professor at Universidade Federal Fluminense and general coordinator of UFF Medialab, researcher CNPq PQ 1D, scientist at Nosso Estado in 2019, by FAPERJ. He has a degree in Computing from the University of São Paulo, a master’s degree and a doctorate in Information Technology from PUC-Rio. Its area of ​​activity is especially focused on the area of ​​Video Games, Virtual Reality, GPUs and Computer Graphics. He is one of the founders of SBGames (Brazilian Symposium on Games and Digital Entertainment), having been president of the SBC Special Games Committee between 2010 and 2014. He is currently the representative for Brazil of the Digital Entertainment Technical Committee of the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP). In 2015 he was named an NVIDIA CUDA Fellow. In 2007 he received the ABRAGAMES award as the academy’s greatest contributor to the digital games industry in Brazil. Esteban is a member of the program committee of the most important conferences in the field of digital entertainment. In 2023 he received the Life Achievement award from the SBC Special Commission for Games and Digital Entertainment. In 2024 he is the Program Chair of the High Performance Graphics Conference.
