Telecommunications Engineering Consultant - Claro Brasil

Carlos holds a degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Electronics and Systems, and later specialized in Telecommunications at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ).
He began his professional career in Brazilian military projects as a radar systems and weapon controls designer. In the field of telecommunications, he joined Embratel in 1999, working on the implementation of the first ATM data networks and IP/Internet Backbone, the deployment of the first national-level contribution digital video signal transport network for TV broadcasters (SmarTVideo), the project for the new contribution IP video network for TV broadcasters (EvSOL), and the testing and implementation of the first WiMax, Metro Ethernet, and GPON networks.
Integrated into the Technological Evolution area, he has always been involved in developing new products and services, such as NGN telephony and Netfone, and conducting research and development on new technologies like IoT, SDN, HFC, eMBMS (LTE Broadcast), NFV/Virtualization, Orchestration, 4.5G, and 5G for the Claro group.
He also coordinated, together with Claro, the coexistence tests conducted by Anatel between 5G in the 3.5GHz band and satellite TV reception systems in the C-band. He participated as one of the rapporteurs in the Frequencies Committee of the Brazil 5G Project and is part of the Brazilian delegation at the ITU (ITU).
He has been a member of the GT-Desocupação (Technical Group for the Vacation of the 3.5 GHz Band and Interference Mitigation) of GAISPI/ANATEL (Group for Monitoring the Implementation of Solutions for Interference Problems in the 3.625 to 3.700 MHz band) since its creation.
