Luana Bravo, Content and Project Manager, SET
Luana Bravo is an electrical engineer with an emphasis on electronics from Faculdade de Engenharia São Paulo. Post-graduate degree in Digital TV from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. She has been working in the television market for over 10 years. She has been a member of the SET board since 2012 and represents ABERT in the Ultra HD Brasil Project. She is currently project and content manager at SET.

Gustavo Marra, President, TVCoins
Gustavo Marra is a professional with over 20 years of experience in the media and technology industry. He has already worked in large companies, such as TV Globo and Eutelsat, in addition to having led ATEME’s international expansion. He is currently President of TVCoins, a content distribution and monetization company, and has led the company to establish itself as a major player in the Streaming market. Marra is a recognized professional in the industry and frequently invited to speak at industry events.
Roberto Grosman, CTO - Chief Transformation Officer, SBT
Roberto Grosman has been CTO – Chief Transformation Officer at SBT for three months. The executive has more than 20 years of experience in companies such as the F.biz agency, Google, Amazon and the edtech Descomplica, in addition to being a co-founder of Fulano, one of the first start-ups in Brazil. Grosman holds a degree in Business Administration from FGV and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, in the United States.

More than 20 years of experience in Media and Telecom, shes worked for Globo for over 10 years, setting up Globo’s DTH for the international market, started studying streaming and OTT market in 2011.
She then created her own consulting company, helping companies open Latam markets, bringing Roku to Brazil, among other companies.
Today she is the Head of Business Development for CTV at Siprocal. In addition to being the Director of Market Relations at Abott’s.

Keynote: Mr. Sam Matheny, Executive Vice President & Chief Technology Officer - NAB
Sam Matheny is Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at the National Association of Broadcasters. With over 25 years of experience in the broadcast and data networking industries, including earning a patent for inventing mobile and interactive DTV technologies, Sam leads NAB’s technology team in its efforts to promote innovation and propel broadcast technology into the future. He also provides overall leadership for PILOT as well as NAB’s TV, Radio, and Digital Technology Committees.Matheny is a member of the Academy of Digital Television Pioneers. He serves on the board of the Ultra HD Forum, the board of governors for the National Wireless Safety Alliance, the board of visitors for East Carolina University, and as a non-resident fellow of the German Marshall Fund. He has served as an advisor to numerous startup and technology companies and is currently engaged with Reveal Mobile, a location-based advertising technology company, and Haystack TV, a personalized OTT headline news channel. He has previously served on the FCC Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council (CSRIC), the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Integrated Public Alert Warning System Network Advisory Council (IPAWS NAC), and on the board of directors for the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC), where he was Chairman of the specialist group on the next generation of digital television.
Before joining NAB, Sam served as Vice President of Policy and Innovation for Capitol Broadcasting Company where he focused on strategic media applications, mobile wireless content delivery, smart TV, and helped secure multiple patents for broadcast Internet distribution. He has also held management positions with mobile development, satellite, digital television, web development, and interactive video companies.
Sam holds a B.S. in Communications from East Carolina University, a M.S. in Technology Management from North Carolina State University, and a certificate for artificial intelligence and business strategy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2007, he was named an American Marshall Memorial Fellow.

An electronic engineer, he is the founder of FB Consultoria and former general director of Engineering at Rede Globo. He is part of the Deliberative Council of the SBTVD Forum and is a member of the international entities: IEEE, IBC and SMPTE. In 1994, he became the coordinator of the group created by SET and ABERT that studied and implemented digital TV in Brazil. He was a member of the Council of Social Communication of the Federal Senate. He is recognized worldwide as an engineer of notorious knowledge in the field of communications.
Serge Van Herck, Chief Executive Officer, EVS
Serge Van Herck holds an electrical engineering degree from the University of Ghent and an MBA degree from the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Belgium. Serge has more than 25 years of experience in the broadcast and satellite industry and over 10 years of experience as CEO, having worked for various market leading companies such as Newtec, Accenture and Belgacom (now Proximus). Before joining Newtec in 2003 he served for two years as Senior Manager in the Communications and High Tech practice of Accenture in Brussels. In 2003, he became Newtec’s Director Business Development for Asia and General Manager of Skyware, a former subsidiary of Newtec in Germany. He was appointed CEO and Chairman of the Board of Newtec on March 1st 2006 and left the company in 2017. He transformed and successfully grew the company from a regional niche player selling broadcast modulators to a widely recognized industry leader setting standards and selling complex satellite network solutions across the globe. In 2008, he joined the WTA (World Teleport Association) and ESOA (European Satellite Operator Association) as a board member. He also served as a board member at VOKA (Flanders’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Agoria (Belgium’s largest employers’ organization and trade association).
David Ross, Chief Executive Officer, Ross
David has been surrounded by engineering, business, and video technology his entire life.
He began programming in 1975 at the age of nine. While in high school, David won three major engineering competitions at the national level with projects involving real time programming and computer graphics.
David graduated university with a degree in Computer Engineering with a heavy business emphasis. He also gained co-op experience at Ross, the CBC and Electrohome working on projectors and video effects units.
David joined Ross Video full time in 1991 with successively more responsibilities including product management and running the R&D department until eventually becoming president in 2004 and then CEO in 2006. David is also Chairman of the board and now the majority shareholder of Ross Video with over 80% control and ownership, while also making Ross an ESOP company with considerable employee ownership. Ross has no private equity ownership.
Ross Video’s sales have grown at a consistent cumulative rate of about 15% per year since he joined in 1991. In fact, the company has not yet seen a single down year in sales, even in recessions.
David has received many awards and honorary diplomas including an honorary doctorate from the University of Ottawa for achievements in Engineering and Business in 2017 and is a Fellow of both the Canadian Academy of Engineering and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).
A big believer in learning from others and sharing, David has been a member of CEO organizations for decades and has been a member of TEC (known as Vistage in the US) since 2011. He has even been known to listen to management books while competing in Marathon races.
Arne Berven, Chief Executive Officer, Wolftech
I started out my education in the Norwegian Navy with focus on electronics. After five years as IT consultant on network and infrastructure I took the position as IT Manager when TV 2 in Norway started the broadcast channel in 1992. I built up the IT department and was responsible for all IT infrastructure and our interactive services from the start. I was also working with several research projects and external services for the The Norwegian Football Federation and others. In 2011 one of my colleagues started Wolftech and I was the chief of board from the start of the company. Wolftech started with a focus on live video from the field. In 2014 we decided to change the focus in the company and I took the position as the CEO. In 2016 we got our first customer VRT in Belgium and our largest customer BBC we got in 2018. We have now established ourselves as the leader in the story centrics news, sports and entertainment production planning segment of the market.
Conrad Clemson, CEO, EditShare
Conrad Clemson is the CEO of EditShare, a leading developer of storage and media management solutions that fuel collaboration and efficiency. Previously Conrad was the SVP and General Manager of Cisco’s Service Provider Video Software and Services business. Before joining Cisco, he was CEO of BNI Video, a startup which developed products that offer video back-office and content delivery network (CDN) analytic capabilities for service providers. Clemson also completed a successful one-year relationship as an Entrepreneur in Residence with Charles River Venture. Earlier in his career, Clemson served as Senior Director of Engineering at Motorola; Senior Vice President of Technical Operations at Broadbus; Executive Vice President and Vice President of Engineering at Gotham Networks; and VP of Engineering at Lucent Technologies. Throughout his career, Clemson has developed and executed a variety of successful product and solution strategies, with an emphasis on leading technology offerings.
João Neto, CEO, Voiceinteraction
João Neto is the co-Founder and CEO of VoiceInteraction, a Speech Processing Technologies company. With a PhD in Automatic Speech Recognition, he is an expert in the use of these systems in the Broadcast News area. As a Professor at the University of Lisbon, he supervised several PhDs, participated in European Projects, published over 70 papers in International Conferences and Journals, and carried out his research work at INESC-ID Lisbon, in the HLT group. Since its foundation in 2008, João Neto has been CEO of VoiceInteraction, a product company using ASR for Automatic Closed Captioning, Media Monitoring, Transcription Automation, Speech Analytics and Dictation with over 600 clients worldwide.
