Development of Interactive Applications

This panel will bring together experts from the digital TV ecosystem to discuss key tools and strategies that accelerate the development of interactive applications. Focusing on the practical needs of broadcasters, manufacturers, and media companies, we will address the technical challenges and market opportunities that are shaping the future of interactive television. The panel will provide a comprehensive overview of the available tools to accelerate time-to-market, ensure interoperability, and offer insights on how to maximize return on investment in digital TV applications.

MBA in Project Management from FGV and a Computer Engineer from UNICAMP. Since 2007, he has been working at EiTV, studying and implementing new hardware and software solutions for streaming and digital television technologies. Responsible for team structuring, deadline monitoring, standards, quality, and delivery of on-premise or cloud-based software. Coordinator of the GT-ST at the Brazilian Forum of Digital Television. Skilled in Product Management, transmission equipment, IPTV systems, and OTT solutions for a variety of technologies (ISDB-Tb, DVB, IP, Satellite, Digital TV, Embedded Systems, Linux servers), set-top box development, middleware for digital TV manufacturers.

Challenge of Developing Applications for TV 2.5 and the Journey to DTV+

Just over a year ago, Globo began a deeper focus on developing and delivering interactive experiences on broadcast TV, and this process has brought a series of learnings, challenges, and evolutions in this environment.
Topics such as logged-in journeys, integrated voting/polling, personalization, and advertising deliveries were explored and analyzed in various ways during this period, contributing to the advancement of these experiences and accelerating the implementations already underway for DTV+.

Electronic engineer graduated from UFRJ, master's degree in computational optimization from Coppe, MBA in finance from Coppead and with 19 years of experience developed in various areas at Globo. He led teams and implementations in areas such as Research & Development, Technology Projects, Governance & Strategy, globoplay and is now responsible for the Digital Streaming and TV 3.0 teams within the Digital Hub. Its main focus currently is to transform the audio/video consumption of Globo's digital products, leading to a ubiquitous, unique and differentiated experience, and on the design of the new application environment under construction for broadcast and broadband TV 3.0.es in construction of a technically viable solution for the delivery of DAI in the open TV environment, within the current digital terrestrial TV standard and the prospects for this delivery already in the TV 3.0 environment.

This presentation will showcase the evolution of interactive experiences developed by the broadcaster and how they are reshaping the relationship between viewers and programming. It features real-world case studies, measurable outcomes, and a forward-looking perspective on what to expect with the arrival of DTV+—a new era that promises personalization, expanded possibilities, and seamless integration with other platforms.

Electronic Engineer with over 20 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing high-complexity projects in broadcast, digital TV, computer networks, fiber optics, automation, video over IP, and audiovisual systems.
He specializes in the strategic management of technical teams for the operation, maintenance, and innovation of systems for over-the-air TV broadcasting and streaming distribution. He has a strong track record in implementing operational improvements, defining SLAs, managing agile projects, and fostering innovation through internal and external partnerships.

Implementation of Interactivity in Regional TV Stations and the Prospects with TV 3.0

The panel showcases how SCC SBT, in Santa Catarina, has been exploring interactivity in Digital TV, presenting applied case studies in various contexts, and highlights the opportunities that TV 3.0 may bring to regional broadcasters.

Executive Vice President of Grupo SCC, which includes the free-to-air television broadcaster SCC SBT, and radio stations: Clube FM Lages, Massa FM Lages, Massa FM Serra RS, Gralha FM, and Nevasca FM, as well as DITEC—a technology company offering solutions for smart cities. He has worked for over 20 years in the broadcasting sector. He is an Electrical Engineer with a specialization in Production (UFSC), a Business Administrator (UNISUL), and holds a PhD in Information Sciences and Technologies (University Institute of Lisbon). He led the digital transformation of Grupo SCC, encompassing both management and technology, and is currently focused on positioning the company as one of Brazil’s leading media groups. He actively participates in organizations such as ACAERT, SERT, ACIL, and ADVB/SC. Passionate about technology and innovation, he invests his time in media and smart city ventures that deliver value and security to clients and users.
