2024 Olympics, far beyond sport

In this panel, we will explore the holding of the 2024 Olympics from three main perspectives: the point of view of the journalist covering the Games, the technical aspect of the broadcast and the production of the event. We will discuss how technological developments have transformed journalistic coverage, from the first broadcasts to the most recent advances. We will cover the challenges faced by journalists, the technical innovations required for quality broadcasting and the behind-the-scenes production that makes it possible to bring this major sporting event to a global audience.

He has extensive professional experience in the audio and video area, a field in which he has worked for 23 years. Technically responsible for several coverages of international sporting events on radio and TV.

Álvaro José Paes Leme de Abreu, better known simply as Álvaro José, is a Brazilian journalist and sports announcer. He has worked for the channels Rede Bandeirantes, BandSports, Rede Globo and Rede Record. He was a blogger in Beijing for the Terra portal. He has won awards from APCA, journalism and Ford/ACESP. The official narrator of the history of the Olympics, he released a DVD for Revista Placar, which considered him "The voice of the Olympics". He has been to 11 Olympics - 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020. He has also covered five World Cups, four Winter Olympic Games, as well as world championships in volleyball, swimming and gymnastics, among other events.
