Gabriel worked for 12 years at Globo Group in operations and projects, focused on delivering videos to multiple platforms. At Harmonic, he spent 4 years in pre-sales, working on migrating video workflows to the cloud and implementing SaaS models. Since early 2024, he has been part of the engineering solutions team at Synamedia, covering the video network portfolio, which includes primary distribution, streaming, and CDN.

DAI on Open TV

The challenges of integrating broadcast and broadband environments in building a technically viable solution for the delivery of DAI in the open TV environment, within the current digital terrestrial TV standard; and the prospects for this delivery already in the TV 3.0 environment.

Electronic engineer graduated from UFRJ, master's degree in computational optimization from Coppe, MBA in finance from Coppead and with 19 years of experience developed in various areas at Globo. He led teams and implementations in areas such as Research & Development, Technology Projects, Governance & Strategy, globoplay and is now responsible for the Digital Streaming and TV 3.0 teams within the Digital Hub. Its main focus currently is to transform the audio/video consumption of Globo's digital products, leading to a ubiquitous, unique and differentiated experience, and on the design of the new application environment under construction for broadcast and broadband TV 3.0.es in construction of a technically viable solution for the delivery of DAI in the open TV environment, within the current digital terrestrial TV standard and the prospects for this delivery already in the TV 3.0 environment.  

Browsing and searching on Smart TVs

Recent movements in the streaming war bring new challenges to Smart TV interfaces. Deconstruction of the programming guide, live events on VOD-oriented OTTs and content marketplaces are some examples. These movements greatly increased the content offer, making navigation and findability difficult. In this talk we will see how theoretical models of information need and search can be applied to big screen interfaces to improve user experience.

Guilhermo Reis loves UX, the User Experience Design. He has worked in this area for over 20 years, designing and leading UX teams in large companies, such as Globoplay, Catho, Webmotors and Banco Real. He is currently UX Manager at Claro tv +, leading the team of designers responsible for the user interface on Smart TVs, Set-top Boxes, smartphones, tablets and websites. He has more than 10 years as a teacher in this area, teaching postgraduate courses and workshops and he has already helped train many good professionals in the market. Guilhermo is the author of the book Fundamentals of UX (fundamentosdeux.com) , an important reference guide in the area in Brazil. He is also a community enthusiast, giving talks and participating in the organization of important UX conferences, such as EBAI and ILA18.
