Seeking to discuss the disruptive audiovisual scenario, the SET EXPO Conference will bring together specialists from around the world

As technology has advanced, it has revolutionized how people consume information and entertainment around the world, and this movement has directly affected the audiovisual production chain – from creation to consumption. Against this backdrop of intense change and constant adaptation, the 2018 SET EXPO Conference, the largest professional training and recycling conference in Latin America, brings together in São Paulo specialists, business leaders, start-ups and entrepreneurs from all over the world to discuss the trends and challenges of the sector. The event will run from August 27 to 30 at the Expo Center Norte Convention Center in São Paulo, and is organized by SET, the flagship association of the audiovisual technology sector in Brazil, which this year celebrates its 30th birthday.

There will be four simultaneous content halls over the four days, and the expectation is for over 1,500 attendees who will watch over 60 panels (and over 300 talks) while interacting with more than 250 market specialists. The program includes topics such as innovation and disruptive technologies; content production; audiovisual contribution and infrastructure; audiovisual distribution; consumer electronics; and regulatory and standards issues. All media are included: from apps to smartphones; from drones to cameras and editing blocks; from TV to cinema; from satellites to video streaming. In addition, all entertainment products such as series, movies, documentaries, radio, music, journalism, sports, advertising and games are also included.

In the opinion of the SET president, Liliana Nakonechnyj: “The audiovisual industry is in the throes of a technological revolution and, in Brazil, SET EXPO is the best place to showcase the effects that these innovations are having on how audiovisual content is produced, commercialized and consumed.” “The current moment now requires companies, professionals and schools to be increasingly in tune with the digital transformations and the new demands of the market and the public in multiplatform and multiscreen environments, and on multiple devices. The SET EXPO Conference seeks to foster the exchange of knowledge, enhancement and debate about the future of the audiovisual industry production chain in Brazil”, she adds.
